Lizzo's pain

Singer Lizzo has stated that she sometimes feels like quitting her career due to weight-related bullying. American artist Lizzo revealed in her blog on Twitter that she occasionally contemplates leaving the entertainment industry because of the hate she receives. The singer is often subjected to humiliation and body shaming due to her weight, which exceeds 100 kilograms. Lizzo came across a negative comment from blogger Laai Hailpern, who insulted her appearance, as reported by NME. In response, the artist wrote on her profile that bullying makes her "hate the whole world." She expressed her exhaustion from constantly having to explain herself and simply wanting to log into the app (Twitter) without encountering negativity.

One user replied, stating that Lizzo's larger size is part of her brand. Lizzo retorted, "I'm not trying to be fat. I'm not trying to be smaller. I'm literally just trying to be healthy and live my life." Lizzo concluded that the positive treatment she receives on social media is outweighed by the negative. As revealed by NME, the singer eventually deactivated her Twitter account and later confessed on her TikTok that sometimes she feels like "quitting music and disappearing." She concluded by stating that she has enough money to buy a farm and never interact with anyone again.

Despite frequently expressing her struggles with hate, Lizzo's successful creative career has not been hindered by societal beauty standards. She has received numerous accolades, including several Grammy, Billboard, and MTV awards.
